Let us help you plan lunchbox and after-school snacks!
It’s easy to run out of snack ideas for kindergartners and other school-aged kids. Especially if you’ve got a voracious or picky eater on your hands. That’s why we rounded up some of our favorites.
The obvious answer here is cut-up vegetables like cucumber rounds and carrot sticks or pieces of fruit like a handful of blueberries. And there’s no shame in reaching for a prepackaged snack for your kids, either. I certainly ate my share of Power Bars after getting home from school, and my daughter is currently obsessed with Veggie Straws.
But your kids might get bored of those, or maybe you want them to eat less processed food.
If you’re looking for something homemade — whether as quick fuel when shuttling to after-school activities or as a more substantial snack — this list is a great start. Some ideas are more obvious, like Chex mix or English muffin pizzas (a favorite in our home). But I’m certain you haven’t thought of all of these!
(By the way, you can search gluten-free, vegetarian, dairy-free, low-carb, keto, paleo, healthy, and other recipes on our site to easily find more ideas for exactly what you need! Every kid and family is different, so customize to your needs.)
