Who doesn’t like a quick and delicious dinner that can be put on your table in 20 minutes?

I always keep frozen shrimp in my freezer just for these reasons.

Luckily, my family loves having shrimp for dinner so Sesame Shrimp Noodles , Oven Fried Shrimp and Spicy Shrimp Tacos are also on my dinner rotation often.

How do you defrost shrimp?

It’s easy to pull out a frozen bag of shrimp, defrost them and get dinner on the table.

Shrimp can be defrosted in the bag overnight in the refrigerator, but I tend to use the faster thawing method.

Remove the shrimp from its packaging and put it into a bowl of cold water in the sink. Run cold water into the bowl while the excess water goes down the drain.

Make sure to drain the shrimp well. I like to pat them down with a few paper towels to get any extra water absorbed. This process takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

What ingredients do you need for this recipe?

  • Fresh or frozen shrimp
  • Olive oil
  • Chile powder
  • Sweet Chili Sauce
  • Fresh Lime Juice
  • Fresh cilantro

This recipe needs minimal ingredients and you can find everything at your average grocery store.

I buy the sweet Asian chili sauce and extra can be served on the side for dipping if you prefer.

What should you serve with Chili Lime Shrimp?

My favorite way to serve these shrimp is over rice or with Asian style noodles but lately I have been watching my carb intake so a nice fresh salad or plate of roasted asparagus also goes perfectly.

Here are a few of my favorite dishes to serve next to these shrimp:

Honey Garlic Instant Pot Noodles

Toaster Oven Roasted Broccoli

Cilantro Lime Rice Bowl

Gluten Free Sticky Garlic Noodles

Homemade Fried Rice

Hush Puppies

The other bonus of this recipe is that it uses only one pan so clean up is a breeze.

It is abundant with flavor but also simplicity so I hope you will give it a try!
