This decadent Chocolate Strawberry Tart will have you wanting dessert first. We say life is short – go for it!

Being a stay-at-home mom has always been a dream of mine. I’m thankful for being able to watch my daughter’s every step, be close by for every milestone.
We’ve been together day and night since the day she was born. With the exception of date nights.
Date nights, well-scheduled in the calendar at the beginning of each month, is something both I and my husband are look forward too. Quiet, adult-talk time with no little one to entertain.

Although most of the time we manage to find a sitter so we can go out for a nice dinner, there have been times where date night takes place in our living room. Soft relaxing music, a glass of wine and a decadent dessert is all we need. On one last minute change-of-plans date night, I made this chocolate strawberry tart.
You might think it takes forever to put it together, but you only need half an hour plus a little time to chill in the fridge – just enough time to put on that little black dress.

This chocolate strawberry tart is actually a double chocolate tart. I added some cocoa powder to the crust and the filling is a mixture of melted chocolate and strawberry preserve.
For the finishing touches, dip some fresh strawberries in white or dark chocolate, or white and red like I did. Optionally, you can grate chocolate on top or a dust of powder sugar.
We bet this cookie dough truffles recipe would be pretty fab for date night too. Who needs anything but chocolate on date night anyway?

- 3/4 cup Strawberry Preserves
