Independence Day Recipe Roundup: Grilling Up a Good Time!

Happy 4th of July! Nothing says party quite like sunshine, grilling, and spending time with family and friends.

Today we celebrate the birth of the United States as a nation. Independence Day has come to mean an excuse for barbecue and good times, but we’d also like to take a moment to thank each and every military member and their families for service. We appreciate everything you do!

If we could, we’d have a big party to show you, and this would be our menu. From sweet to savory, grilled to slow cooked, we’ve got you covered this 4th of July. Have a great one.

David’s Smoky Whiskey Burgers and slow cooker baked beans from Shaina sound like a great start to an epic meal, but let’s keep the fun going with some magnificent sides:

Why not start with some of Emily’s Goat Cheese Stuffed Mini Peppers, and then move on to that Creamy Greek Pasta Salad from Christina?

This creamed corn recipe isn’t like anything you’d imagine. Fresh corn kernels pop in a savory milky gravy, and it’s amazing. Since it’s my recipe, I can tell you that for sure. Plus, you can’t skip the homemade whole wheat hamburger buns from Jen – they’re better for your family, both in taste and ingredients!

There aren’t many desserts that personify Independence Day like S’mores and Strawberry Shortcake. We love these awesome twists on the classics – make the bar dessert with homemade marshmallow fluff from Shelly, and who can resist a boozy milkshake from Brandy?!

If you’re looking for some quick and easy shortcuts to festive desserts, we love these Berry Lime Popsicles from Jamie, made with iced tea and fresh fruit, and the most adorable star cupcake toppers ever! Any cupcake becomes festive for the 4th when you add red and blue stars, duh. Kristan made them with Airheads candy and a star cookie cutter. THAT easy.
However you choose to enjoy today, we hope you’re eating well and having fun!
