A Cranberry Cider Mule will cure any winter blues you may have. It’s cozy and wonderful.
Happy holidays! Sit down and have a cocktail, you probably deserve it. With all the hustle and bustle this time of year, how often do we forget to take time and take care of ourselves?
Family commitments, unexpected guests, holiday parties, gift shopping and work overload can really make that stress build up. I’m feeling it already, are you?
So, here’s the deal, from now on until the end of the year — you need to take some “me time.” Spend that time however you want, but here’s my preferred version: sit down on the couch with a cuddle dog, a good cocktail, and Netflix the night away.
Will the commitments and stress still be there the next morning? Most likely, but just push it aside for a few hours. You gotta do it otherwise you’ll explode before the month is up!
At home, I’m not normally a fussy cocktail maker. I leave it to the professionals when I go out, but ‘tis the season, and the season happens to be filled with apple cider and cranberries. As soon as the stores start loading up with locally made apple cider, I can’t help but stock my fridge for the season.
My go-to is usually spiked hot cider, but after spotting some leftover cranberries in the fridge, I couldn’t help but change things up and make this Cranberry Cider Mule.
Generally speaking, a Moscow Mule is made with vodka, ginger beer, and a squeeze of lime, but who says you need to follow the rules all the time?
It’s the winter, it’s cold and my preferred alcohol of choice is bourbon, the perfect cocktail to warm you up even in a frosty copper mug.
A splash of cranberry juice, a healthy glug of cider, and ginger beer finish off this Cranberry Cider Mule with a little taste of everything: sweet, tart, and spicy. Plus, the vanilla, oak, and caramel notes from the bourbon.
Can you think of a better drink to cozy up with and have a Netflix marathon? I can’t. Then, after you’re done with your me time, go and share this drink with friends; it’ll be a hit at those holiday parties, too.
