What Is a Tater Tot Casserole?

This particular type of dish, sometimes referred to as hot dish, has many different variations. If you can think it up, I guarantee there’s a tater tot casserole version.

The standard version features frozen tots, cream of mushroom soup, seasoned ground beef, and lots of cheese. From there, you can add whatever flavors you wish.

The Duggars tater tot casserole has many of the same elements, with a little twist. (And it's a super popular dish!)

You can prepare tater tot casserole ahead of time, but it also comes together so quickly that there’s almost no reason to do so.

Likewise, it's also a great recipe to get the kids involved with cooking. They can help layer everything together and arrange the tots on top!

Our gluten free tater tot casserole swaps out a regular can of cream of mushroom soup for a homemade gluten free version that can be ready in just a few minutes.

If you want to explicitly make sure your casserole is gluten free, just make sure to get the GF tater tots from your local grocer.

Wanna stay away from potatoes in general? We got you covered on that one, too!

This cauliflower tater tot casserole takes a little longer to prepare, but since it’s made from cauliflower, you can pretend you’re eating healthy!

We even have a cajun cauliflower tater tot casserole to spice things up a bit if you want to try something really different.

For the tater tot casserole to beat all tater tot casseroles (arguably) might I suggest our Buffalo chicken tater tot casserole?

Of course, we can't talk about tater tot casserole without an honorable mention for this cheeseburger tater tot casserole. It's so good!

  • Olives
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Sliced jalalpeños
