Sloppy Joe Sliders Recipe

Dionne Baldwin | Try Anything Once

The appetizer version of a savory favorite, sloppy joe sliders are here to kick your party up a notch! Your guests will love these mini messy burgers.

I like to think of sloppy joes as a messy (in a good way) burger and sloppy joe sliders are an excuse to have more than one! This depends on your appetizer menu of course, but I can usually sneak in two of these when we have them as a part of our menu.

From what I can remember, my mom made sloppy joes only once when I was growing up. Can’t really remember why, but she must not have liked them.

This wasn’t something we ate when I was a kid, but they always looked so good when I saw the sloppy joe commercials on tv. Now that I’m an adult with my own house, I get to make then whenever I want! (Picture me doing the happy dance.)

I never cared for the canned sloppy joe sauce, and on one occasion I tried mixing in a chicken and rice soup with ground beef, which was recommended by a friend. That was not very well accepted, but this recipe is a winner every time.

There is almost always a bottle of barbecue sauce in the fridge that needs to be used up so I think this is perfect. Usually it’s “original” flavored sauce so not spicy just the right amount of savory, smoky and sweet.

These would be good with a little heat though, don’t you think?

Ideal for potlucks and perfect for football Sundays, these sloppy joe sliders use ingredients that you just might have on hand already!

Except for the rolls. If you get these started, a friend can bring the rolls and with any luck your friend will be there in time to finish up the last steps of the recipe!
