Rumchata Cinnamon Toast Latte is a boozy treat that comes together in five minutes. Enjoy!
Can we talk about the joy that is mornings with a toddler?
It’s a like a never-ending gift. And I say “gift,” because you literally do not know what you’re going to get from one morning to the next.
Sometimes it’s exactly what you want, sometimes it’s the exact OPPOSITE of what you want.
But either way, you’ve got to open that gift every morning and smile like it’s exactly what you asked for.
One morning last week, Lucy decided to climb into my bed at 4 a.m., claiming to be “sick.”
As she weakly choked out suspiciously fake-sounding coughs, she pointed out a 6-inch spot in the bed between my husband and I and informed us that it was the perfect spot to lay down and get better.
And then she added that a brownie and some chocolate milk might help, too.
When I informed my dear, precious child that 4am was no time for brownies (okay, sometimes it is, but we aren’t telling her that) and there was no room for her in our bed, she began to sob.
“But I’m WARY WARY sick!!” she sobbed. “CAN’T YOU HEAR MY COUGH??”
There is no going back to sleep after such a fiasco. Unless you are my husband, who could literally sleep through a tornado on top of his face.
The only thing to do was to get up, consume some caffeine, and eat brownies. I mean, once someone mentions eating brownies, you kind of have to. It’s like a rule.
Some mornings in particular call for a teensy splash of Rumchata. Or if you’re the type of person to put on pants and drive places during the day, maybe save it for the evening.
Either way, this creamy, cozy drink is a nice reward after dealing with pretend-sick four-year- olds.
I recently bought an inexpensive milk frother and trust me when I say that it is a game changer. It makes my chai lattes SO much better!
This yummy latte is frothy and sweet and tastes of cinnamon toast. I think you’re going to love it!
