This Margaritaville Pink Cadillac Margarita doesn’t just look good – it tastes pretty amazing too!
‘But there’s booze in the blender
And soon it will render
That frozen concoction that helps me hang on
Wastin’ away again in Margaritaville…’
Jimmy Buffet had the right idea when it came to margaritas!
His love for margaritas evolved from just enjoying sipping on them to creating a haven for margarita lovers, and as his website states ‘a state of mind is now a state of being’ – Margaritaville!
Years later, Margaritaville has over 30 locations, serving up delicious food and tasty margaritas. He also launched his own range of Margaritaville Spirits, which include tequila and sour mix.
The Pink Cadillac Margarita features Margaritaville Last Mango, which is silver tequila blended with tropical mango. This liquor is the star of the show, and results in a deliciously sweet and fruity margarita, perfect for the summer!
This twist on a margarita has a gorgeous pinky-red colour that will impress at any BBQ or even a Cinco-de-Mayo party. We recommend mixing up a few bottles of this, so that you can just sit and enjoy, as you will be back for more than one!
Presentation is key with this cocktail, and if you want to wow your guests even more, here’s another little trick that will dub you as a pro-mixologist.
While the pink colour of this cocktail is show-stopping, it’ll really grab more attention with orange liqueur floated on top!
Sounds daunting doesn’t it?
Luckily, you can do this at home, but may take a bit of practice (but gives you reason to drink your practice ones!!). Once you’ve followed the recipe below, you can use an orange flavored liqueur, such as Grand Marnier, to create a layer of orange on top of the pink cocktail.
To do this:
- Pour the margarita mixture into the glass.
- Hold a spoon upside down against the side of the glass.
- Slowly pour the orange liqueur over the back of the spoon, allowing it to touch the side of the glass.
Don’t worry if you don’t get it right the first few times, it’ll still taste delicious!
Margaritaville Pink Cadillac Margarita Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces Tequila (use Margaritaville Last Mango)
- 1/2 ounce Triple Sec
- 1/2 cup Margarita Mix or use Margaritaville mix
- 1 ounce Cranberry Juice
Instructions
- Traditional margaritas are known for their salted rim, but you can have a little fun with this one, and combine salt and sugar. Run a lime wedge along the rim of a cocktail glass, then dip into a small dish of sugar and salt.
- In a large shaker, combine all of the liquid ingredients and add a large handful of ice.
- Shake vigorously; increase the depth of color by adding a bit more cranberry juice.
- Garnish with a lime wedge, and consider layering some orange liqueur on top if you wish.
- Enjoy!
