There are lots of antioxidant packed, immunity boosting tea recipes, some of which you may not even realize you have already been drinking! Others may be newer to you.

Let’s take a look and get brewing.

What are antioxidants and why they are good for you?

Antioxidants are molecules that help fight free radicals in your body; free radicals are harmful and can destroy certain cells when they are found in abundance.

While free radicals are negative, your body does actually need some of them - but at a certain balance.

Ideally your body should have an equal balance between free radicals and antioxidants.

When there is an imbalance - and the levels of free radicals exceed antioxidants - it creates a state called oxidative stress. Your lifestyle, stressors and environmental factors can all contribute to oxidative stress.

Such stressors can include things such as smoking, drinking alcohol, high blood sugar levels, bacterial fungal or viral infections.

To avoid this state of imbalance and oxidative stress, you should be sure to consume a diet full of antioxidants.

You can find antioxidants in fruit, veggies and plants as well as certain types of vitamins such as E and C.

Green tea is a great source of antioxidants but it is not to everyone’s taste. Black tea is also another great source.

In fact, green and black teas have nearly ten times the amount of antioxidants when compared to fruits and veggies.

The type of antioxidants found in these teas, however, are different to those found in fruits and veggies, so it's important to consume both.

One of our favorite types of antioxidant teas is Sparkling Antioxidant Citrus Tea.

Packed with antioxidants and health benefits, this tea will help to quench your thirst and protect your body from entering a state of oxidative stress.

It also happens to be quite delicious, offering a combination of both tanginess and sweetness. In fact, it may just become your go-to drink!
