Ingredients
  

  • 3 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Nutmeg
  • 1 Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 Baking Powder
  • 1 Salt
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 1/4 cups Black Currants
  • 1/2 cup Milk

Instructions
 

  • Beat the egg alongside milk. Add currants to mixture. Sift all other dry ingredients together.
  • Work butter into flour and mix until mealy. Pour milk and currants over flour and butter mixture. Mix well.
  • Wrap in wax paper and chill for at least one hour.
  • Roll it 3/8th of an inch thick and cut into pieces with cookie cutter
  • Cook on a pancake griddle at 325 degrees, greased with oil.
  • Cook on both sides, flipping when shiny.
  • Roll in granulated sugar and let cool.
