Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
These chocolate chip cookies get a little boost from the combination of chocolate, as well as the sea salt added at the end, which adds a great salty compliment to the sweetness of the batter, and a bit of texture from the sea salt flakes.
Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter, softened at room temperature
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 6 dark chocolates, chopped
- 1 1/4 teaspoons sea salt
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 375.
2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl, or with the paddle attachment of your standing mixer. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well.
3. Combine the flour and the baking soda and add to the butter and sugar mixture in three batches, mixing to combine well after each addition.
4. Add the chocolate chips, the chopped chocolate and the sea salt, and stir to combine.
5. Scoop the batter using a tablespoon or small ice cream scoop in rounded tablespoons on your cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes, rotating the cookie sheet once halfway through baking.
