Maple Pumpkin Bourbon Steamer is a great after dinner drink on a chilly night. A great autumn cocktail.

I almost always love being a food blogger.

Whether I’m developing an ultra healthy Detox Kale Salad or some super chewy-ooey-gooey-melty chocolate chip paleo cookies. I like it. I love it. I want some more OFFFF IT.

Name that song.

Anyway.

HOWEVER, there are days when I, like, REALLY REALLY MEGA puffy heart love food blogging. Like when I get to sit around in my pajamas all day, drinking cocktails… and I can do it ALL in the name of recipe testing.

Yep. Food blogging definitely does NAAAAAT suck.

The day these happened was eleventy billion percent one of those days. Warm almond milk all whisked together with the creamy pumpkin and super-sweet maple syrup that’s kissed with the perfect blend of fall goodness that is pumpkin pie spice… and finished off with a few (generous. obviously) shots of BOURBON.

That’s what’s in these glasses. WITHHHH coconut whipped cream. Which is “optional” according to the recipe.

But we all know “optional” is secret code for do-it-now-and-you-may-as-well-add-extra-while-you’re-at-it-because-YUM-FOREVER-THE-END.

Or something like that.

If the magical topping of whippy-light-as-air coconut cream didn’t send your warm-comforting-autumn-in-a-fancy-cup loving self into a frenzy of tingly taste buds, let me just give you another reason to get yourself all up in a mug of this RIGHT NOW.

Yes, even if it’s not 5 o’clock.   Because it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere according to that really smart person who invented that saying.  I like how that person’s brain works. We would be real life best friendsies FER SURE.
In other news, I can’t confirm or deny that I had a few steamers before sitting down to write this post.  You know, quality control.  Just looking out for you and all that.
Full disclosure: I actually just wanted some bourbon. Not looking out for you at all.  I decided lying to you wasn’t nice.
Will you take a shot of bourbon as a peace offering?
Of course you will.
Anyway, the reason. Besides the umm-there’s-BOURBON in there awesomesauce that is these cocktails full of tummy-comforting-warm-and-toasty-fall-flavah they are A-L-S-O ready in about 5 minutes. ORRRRR 1 minute if you get smart and ixnay the whole boiling on the stove shenanigans, and use the genius invention knows as the MICROWAVE.
Why wait longer than you have to when you could be chugging back liquid gold? Liquid gold that tastes like a big ol’ slice of pumpkin pie laced with hints of boozy bourbon

Technically it’s more like “liquid orange,” because they’re not quite gold colored. Like, not gold at all. But, that just didn’t have the same ring to it, YA KNOW?
Even if you’re not following me at all, I KNOW you’ll be following your nose to the kitchen as it fills with the scent of spicy pumpkin brewing with rich, smoooooooth like buttah bourbon.
Get it in your glass.
And then get A LOT of that into YER FACE.
What you do after that, I take no blame for.
