How to Meal Prep Low Carb Pizza Bowls

The awesome thing about homemade pizza is how easily you can make it your own, and these bowls are no exception.

Whatever toppings you enjoy, in whatever quantity you choose, are at your disposal. The best part is not having to fight over the bigger slice!

Modifying or adapting these basic pizza bowls to suit any nutritional needs or preferences is also super simple.

Whether you replace the cheese with cashew cheese, pepperoni or bacon with their turkey counterparts, or use ham without sugar added, you can do it!

Having that control over what and how much you eat is one of the most empowering parts about cooking at home for your family.

Prep is so simple! Cooking your toppings couldn’t be easier, and then all you have to do is layer them in single-serving containers and pop them in the fridge.

Step 1. To make pizza bowls just like these, first preheat the oven to 375°F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Lay out pepperoni and ham and bake until slightly crisp, for about 5 to 10 minutes. The ham will probably cook faster than the pepperoni.

Step 2. In a frying pan, prepare the bacon as you normally would. After removing, you can saute the vegetables in the bacon grease for more flavor.

Get creative! Peppers, onions, mushrooms, whatever you prefer, cooked to any doneness you’d like.

Step 3. If you like ground beef on your pizza, spice it up with flavor after you cook and drain.

Italian seasoning, garlic salt, salt and pepper, whatever you prefer. Stir in tomato sauce, or keep it separate - the choice is all yours.

Step 4. Divide your ingredients among four bowls and sprinkle with as much cheese as you want - yes, that’s permission to go crazy!

Cover your bowls and refrigerate them until you’re ready to eat. These will last 3 to 5 days in the fridge.

Alternately, if your entirely family is low carb and you want to spice up dinner, this is such a simple recipe to make on a busy night.

Everyone can grab their own ingredients and create a bowl to enjoy. Any leftovers can easily be packed up for lunch the next day!

Bonus! Reheating the next day could not be simpler.

How to Store and Reheat Pizza Bowls

I mentioned it above, but you'll want to store either your meal prepped pizza bowls or your dinner leftovers in individually portioned containers.

Closed with an airtight lid, you can then refrigerate them immediately where they'll safely keep for 3 to 5 days with no worries.

I prefer glass meal prep containers since they don't stain when reheated in the microwave and the flavor is preserved.

When it's time to reheat, vent the lid and pop the container directly into the microwave.

Just 2 to 3 minutes in the microwave will get you a pizza bowl loaded with your favorite toppings and melted cheese to enjoy at the comfort of your desk!

To finish things off, keep things low carb with keto-friendly fruit for a snack. Guilt-free goodness - you can't go wrong!
