If it is strawberry season, you can sub frozen strawberries for fresh; note that this recipe calls for sliced strawberries in syrup, so they are slightly sweeter than fresh. If you do opt for fresh strawberries, you may want to add a dash of sugar while blending, but if you enjoy tangy flavors, hold the sugar!

The majority of margarita recipes call for Triple Sec, but we have also found that Grand Marnier is a perfect alternative. The rich, deep orange flavor for which Grand Marnier is known pairs perfectly with the tangy strawberries, creating a real treat for the taste buds and taking an already delicious margarita to a whole other level!

While you may think that a salted rim only belongs to a traditional margarita, you will be surprised to know that it works just as well with this frozen strawberry margarita too. You can even give sea salt a try, which we found adds another dimension of flavor, completing your margarita experience.

There are lots of fun variations for this recipe too - mixed berries, strawberry and mango, passionfruit, or strawberry kiwi. You can get as creative as you like with the fruit combinations, but we find these combinations work well with the other flavors listed in our recipe.

Do you have little ones at your summer BBQ that you need to consider? This drink can easily be made as a virgin (or alcohol-free) cocktail. Substitute the alcohol in the recipe for 1/2 cup of orange juice instead.

But don’t forget to serve it in salted rim margarita glass so they can enjoy the experience too!
