  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 cups Self Rising Flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Lavender Sugar
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter frozen
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream plus one tablespoon
  • Lavender Flower Buds for decorating if desired

Instructions

  • In a food processor, pulse together lavender flowers and sugar for two minutes. Store in an airtight container.
  • Preheat oven to 450°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Sift together flour and sugar.
  • Grate frozen butter, and stir into flour.
  • Stir in 1/2 cup cream until a dough forms that just comes together but is neither dry or too sticky.
  • Dump dough out onto a wooden board and knead about 10 times by bringing dough together and folding in half, then repeating.

  • Brush with remaining cream, and sprinkle on lavender buds.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, until golden brown. Serve immediately with the best butter or strawberry jam.
