Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit; be sure to use your thermometer to check the temperature is correct.
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
Beat softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in a mixer until creamed.
Add the eggs to the butter mixture, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Beat in the flour mixture, small portions at a time.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
Depending on how crisp you like your cookies, bake 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
Cool the cookies for 2 minutes before moving to wire racks to completely cool.
