Strawberry Negroni Recipe

This strawberry negroni is perfect for summer. Sweet strawberries, gin, Campari and vermouth make for one smooth cocktail.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Sliced Strawberries
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 ounces Gin
  • 2 ounces Campari
  • 2 ounces Sweet Vermouth
  • Strawberries for garnish
  • Ice Cubes

Instructions
 

  • In a small to medium saucepan combine the sliced strawberries, water and sugar over medium heat.
  • Bring to a boil and the reduce the heat to a simmer.
  • Cook for about 10-15 minutes until the strawberries are completely broken down and can be mashed easily.
  • Pour the mix over a fine mesh sieve set over a bowl and discard the solids. If you would like to infuse more strawberry flavor you can puree the strawberries and then strain through the sieve to eliminate any seeds.
  • Let cool.
  • In a cocktail mixing glass filled with ice pour the gin, campari, sweet vermouth and 1 ounce of strawberry syrup.
  • Stir until the cocktail is chilled, taste and adjust sweetness as needed.
  • Then, strain into two ice filled old fashioned glass, and garnish with a strawberry before serving.
