Boil pasta in a large pot of water according to package directions. Drain and keep warm.
In the meantime, heat olive oil on medium high heat and cook sausage for about 5 to 7 minutes or until no longer pink. Add garlic, tomatoes, and dried basil. Cook for 5 minutes or until tomatoes are wilted.
Stir in wine or broth and bring to a simmer. Add spinach and cooked pasta to the pan. Cook for another few minutes or until sauce is thickened.
Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve with grated cheese if desired.
