Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Mix together flour, brown sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar in a large bowl.
Cut the butter into the flour, using a pastry blender or two knives, until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Add the oats and - using your hands - squeeze and toss the mixture until it starts to form large clumps. Pop into the freezer to chill while you prepare your apples.
Toss the apples with the lemon juice, cinnamon, and remaining 1/2 cup granulated sugar in a large bowl.
Empty the apples into a shallow 2-quart baking dish, and cover them with the topping mixture.
Put the baking dish onto a rimmed baking sheet. Bake for around 55 to 65 minutes, until the Apple Crisp is bubbling and golden.
