Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Beef I like to use 1 lb. 85% lean and 1 lb. 93% lean
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • Lettuce Washed and dried
  • Roma Tomato Fresh
  • Cheese Sliced, like swiss or white cheddar
  • Thousand Island Dressing Homemade fry sauce, or Italian dressing (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Put ground beef in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add pepper, salt, garlic salt, onion powder and Worcestershire sauce, sprinkling on evenly over the meat.
  • Now measure your panko and add it to the bowl along with the egg.
  • Combine ingredients with clean hands just until the spices are evenly incorporated.
  • Form ground beef into balls approximately 1 1/2" wide, and place them on a baking sheet lined with foil or a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 8 minutes, or until the edges are no longer pink and the meatballs are just cooked all the way through. Try not to overbake.
  • After meatballs are completely cooled, slice them in half and place a tiny slice of cheese on the lower half of the meatball.
  • To melt the cheese put the lower halves on a plate and microwave them for a few seconds until the cheese is melted.
  • Tear off small pieces of lettuce and slice small pieces of tomato.
  • Assemble the meatball sandwich from top to bottom with your cute toothpicks.
  • Serve and enjoy!
