- 2 pounds Ground Beef I like to use 1 lb. 85% lean and 1 lb. 93% lean
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
- 1 Egg
- Lettuce Washed and dried
- Roma Tomato Fresh
- Cheese Sliced, like swiss or white cheddar
- Thousand Island Dressing Homemade fry sauce, or Italian dressing (optional)
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Put ground beef in a large mixing bowl.
Add pepper, salt, garlic salt, onion powder and Worcestershire sauce, sprinkling on evenly over the meat.
Now measure your panko and add it to the bowl along with the egg.
Combine ingredients with clean hands just until the spices are evenly incorporated.
Form ground beef into balls approximately 1 1/2" wide, and place them on a baking sheet lined with foil or a baking sheet.
Bake for 8 minutes, or until the edges are no longer pink and the meatballs are just cooked all the way through. Try not to overbake.
After meatballs are completely cooled, slice them in half and place a tiny slice of cheese on the lower half of the meatball.
To melt the cheese put the lower halves on a plate and microwave them for a few seconds until the cheese is melted.
Tear off small pieces of lettuce and slice small pieces of tomato.
Assemble the meatball sandwich from top to bottom with your cute toothpicks.
Serve and enjoy!
