Our friend group is big on everyone bringing a dish to pass for parties - especially during the summer months when no on really wants to cook.

Not only are potlucks easier on the friend hosting the party, but it also means you get to try a wide variety of recipes you might not have thought to make.

These recipes are some of my very favorite dishes to make to share with friends all year long, but especially during the sweet summer months.

1. Texas Caviar Recipe

Texas Caviar is a party staple - especially in the summer months! It's an easy flavorful appetizer or snack made with black eyed peas and marinated in a fresh herb dressing. There are many versions of Texas Caviar floating around out there and none are less delicious than the next - mix up the ingredients based on what you have on hand and serve it up with your favorite tortilla chips.

2. Bean Dip Recipe

This slightly spicy bean dip is creamy, cheesy, and perfect for scooping! It barely takes five minutes to put it together, then just toss it in the oven to let it heat and get melty and gooey. I love topping it with pickled jalapeño slices, tomatoes, a big spoonful of sour cream, cilantro and thinly sliced green onions so you get a bit of crunch along with the creamy bean dip itself.

3. BBQ Chicken Summer Rolls Recipe

These barbecue chicken summer rolls are an amazing appetizer your friends will love - and these are not your average summer rolls. These smoky, sweet, crunchy summer rolls are bursting with crisp peppers, roasted charred corn, zesty lime and sweet pineapple.

4. Harissa Goat Cheese Deviled Eggs Recipe

You won't convince me that there's any party where deviled eggs aren't a good idea, but that's especially true for our harissa goat cheese deviled eggs recipe - they completely level up the deviled egg game. The tangy goat cheese and the slightly sweet yet savory harissa adds an incredible depth of flavor that is just perfect for summer. Don't sleep on these deviled eggs, friends!

5. Skillet Jalapeno Cheddar Cornbread Recipe

Depending on what everyone else is making, there's a solid chance this jalapeño cheddar cornbread will fall right into place at your next summer potluck. It's perfect to pair with Mexican or Tex-Mex fare like tacos, of course, but it's also a great side for grilled sausages or grilled chicken or even burgers!

6. Cherry Chocolate Chip Poke Cake Recipe

If you're the friend who likes to bring along the dessert, this cherry chocolate chip poke cake recipe is a must-try summer potluck recipe. Poke cakes are so easy to make, typically in a simple cake pan and requiring no stacking. The cherry and chocolate flavor combination is always a crowd favorite and it packs a sweet nostalgia that somehow feels entirely right for a summer potluck.

7. Homemade Lemon Cupcakes Recipe

These homemade lemon cupcakes are topped with a creamy lemon buttermilk frosting leaving just the right amount of tangy lemon flavor on your tongue. If you love lemon, these cupcakes are undeniably for you!

8. Black Bean Couscous Salad Recipe

When it's hot out and the grill is cranking, I love pairing everything with a fresh, bright salad that comes together simply and doesn't feel heavy to eat. This black bean couscous salad checks all the boxes. Couscous cooks in just a few minutes (no heating up the kitchen) and is tossed together with black beans, diced red bell peppers, onion, fresh herbs and a homemade vinaigrette.

9. Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes Recipe

There is nothing - and I mean nothing - that screams summer more than these ice cream cone cupcakes! They are whimsical and joyful and a huge hit with the kids and the kids at heart. Because these use a box cake mix as the basis of the cupcake recipe they are even easier to make than you'd guess and you can switch up the colors, flavors and toppings to your liking.

10. Taco Pasta Salad Recipe

This taco pasta salad is a summer sensation! A creamy pasta salad with all your favorite taco toppings, this salad is great to make ahead and have in the fridge for dinner or to take to any get together. Your family and friends will love it!

11. Loaded Guacamole Recipe

Let's be clear - bringing a good homemade guacamole with you to a party is always a win. This loaded guacamole recipe in particular is a huge hit every time! The base is an easy guacamole recipe loaded up with all the toppings you could ever want. We're talking crumbled bacon, queso fresco, diced tomatoes, cilantro, red onion, jalapeño pepper slices and even green chiles!

12. Roasted Corn and Tomato Salad Recipe

The fan of a good summer salad that I am, I'd be remiss if I didn't give this roasted corn and tomato salad it's due. This easy chilled summer salad is bursting with fresh, bright flavors - it's perfect for serving as a side dish during the summer. It's amazing with grilled veggies, chicken, meats, fish or even seafood. Do your friends all a favor and make it for your next summer potluck!

13. Easy Focaccia with Strawberries and Feta Recipe

This easy focaccia with strawberries and feta is topped with balsamic glaze and makes the perfect side dish or light lunch - and the kids always go crazy for it! If you're grilling out at a friend's house, this is the perfect dish to bring to pass.

14. Black Olive Tapenade Recipe

I love a good olive tapenade and this spicy black olive tapenade recipe is a Texas take on the classic appetizer. Black olives, cilantro and lime juice (instead of the standard basil and lemon juice) plus the addition of finely diced jalapeños results in one seriously flavorful and savory tapenade that's amazing served with bread, crackers, veggies - or even topping grilled chicken!

15. Peaches and Cream Pie Recipe

Sweet peaches with whipped cream and a graham cracker crust? Count me in! I’m a sucker for all things pie and peaches. Put them together and it’s a match made in heaven! This peaches and cream pie is the ultimate summer dessert. It's light and sweet, loaded with fresh summer fruit.

16. Quinoa Greek Salad Recipe

At long last, I’m finally starting to come around to quinoa. For the longest time I thought it tasted like wet sand. This quinoa Greek salad is one of the first times I remember really enjoying it. Plus, it’s a Greek style salad, and I’m always up for that! I could live on kalamata olives and feta cheese.

17. Cilantro Tomato Avocado Salad Recipe

Crumbled queso fresco might just be my new favorite thing to put on a salad, especially in this cilantro tomato avocado salad recipe. The queso fresco reminds me of fresh mozzarella with a little extra tanginess, which pairs perfectly with the tomato and avocado. Also, homemade vinaigrettes are so easy, and they make all the difference and this salad proves that handily.

18. Loaded Crunchy Taco Salad Recipe

This loaded crunchy taco salad is easy to make and a total crowd favorite topped with our creamy tomatillo dressing. The creamy tomatillo dressing is easy to make and requires just a handful of ingredients so don't skip it! Trust me - it might just be the very best part.

19. Oatmeal Cookie Blueberry Peach Cobbler Recipe

This oatmeal cookie blueberry peach cobbler recipe is one of my very favorite summer desserts. Instead of using a typical baking dish, layer the ingredients in a well seasoned cast iron skillet and bake your cobbler on the grill with the lid closed. To make it even tastier, top each serving with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate summer treat.
