How to Make Sautéed Mushrooms with Caramelized Onion


Sautéed mushrooms are always delicious but when onions are added to the mix, they take on a whole new irresistible flavor.

So the next time you’re not sure what side dish to make with your meal, this is the answer.

Sautéed Mushrooms with Caramelized Onion

You’ll need 3 cups of baby button mushrooms.

Clean the mushrooms with a damp towel, cut the ends if necessary.

If you are using bigger mushrooms cut them in halves, quarters, or slices.

Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat.

Slice up 1 medium onion and chop 1 clove garlic.

Add onion and garlic and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes until softened.

Add mushrooms and cook with the onion for about 8 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently.

Add 1 teaspoon soy sauce, salt and pepper to taste, and1/4 cup white wine.

Cook until wine evaporates, maybe another 3 to 5 minutes.
