How to Make an Apple Martini

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 medium Green Apple, peeled (peels reserved)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 4 ounces Vodka

Directions

  1. Put the sugar, a cup of water, and 3/4 of the apple peel into a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil.
  2. Continue to heat, stirring occasionally, for around 5 minutes until the sugar has dissolved. 
  3. Pour the syrup into a medium bowl over an ice bath and stand, stirring from time to time, until cool. 
  4. Strain through a fine sieve into another bowl and throw away any solids.
  5. Cut the apple into chunks and press it through an electric juicer into a small bowl. 
  6. Drain through a fine sieve into another bowl and throw away any solids.
  7. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and pour in the vodka, 2 ounces of the syrup, and 1/3 cup of the apple juice. 
  8. Shake well then divide between 2 martini glasses. Garnish with remaining apple strips if required.
