Creamy Sausage & Artichoke Pasta Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Penne, Or rigatoni
  • 2 teaspoons Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup Onion, Finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlics, Minced
  • 12 ounces Ground Italian Sausage
  • 14 ounces Artichoke Hearts, drained
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

Directions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  2. In a large skillet heat olive oil over medium high heat. Add sausage, onions, and garlic. Use a spatula to break up the sausage. Cook for 5-6 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.  Drain any fat that is in the pan.  Add the artichokes, and mix to combine.
  3. In a 2 cup measuring cup combine half-and-half, butter, Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Pour into sausage mixture. Heat until it starts to boil. Add cooked pasta and toss to combine. Season with additional salt and pepper if desired.
  4. Serve immediately topped with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
