Amaranth Porridge Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Amaranth Seeds
  • 2 cups 2% Milk, or water
  • 1 medium Apple, peeled and diced
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick, 4-inch
  • pinch of Salt
  • Pure Maple Syrup, to serve

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine amaranth, milk or water, apple, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cover.
  3. Simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring every so often, until amaranth is cooked and desired consistency is achieved.
  4. Serve with maple syrup for swirling on top.
