Sweet Potato Pecan Scones filled with crunchy toasted nuts and drizzled with a light maple glaze give you all the flavors of your favorite pie.


  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 stick butter (very cold)
  • 1/2 cup sweet potatoes (cooked, cooled and mashed or canned, drained and mashed)
  • 1/3 cup half and half (cream or milk may be used)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (toasted)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (for sprinkling)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 Tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon half and half (if needed to get to drizzling consistency)
