This simple lentils recipe is cheap and easy to make. It's great for students or anyone on a cash-strapped budget. Low GI and high in dietary fibre.

Ingredients

  • 1 pack chicken stock
  • 200 g red lentils
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp gara masala
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 star anise
