Sausage and Spinach Stuffed Shells Recipe

Sausage and spinach stuffed shells are Sunday supper perfection. The whole family will dig in without complaint.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces jumbo shells, 1 package
  • 9 ounces spinach, fresh
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound sweet italian sausage
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 yellow white onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes, 1 can
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 32 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
