Old Fashioned Iced Oatmeal Cookies

Vertically Challenged Mom

 

They are a firm but chewy cookie. They are much better the next day and I cannot say how long they can last, as we have never seen them past two days. It seems that just about everyone loves these cookies!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup butter (softened, 2 sticks)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
