These spicy Miso Glazed Burgers with Asian Cucumber Pickles are my twist on a thick and juicy sandwich of beefy goodness. The grilled patties are spicy and savory, with a rich miso glaze that brings out the savory flavors in the meat. Time to fire up the grill!

Ingredients

  • 2/3 pound ground chuck
  • 3 teaspoons sriracha chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chinese five spice
  • 2 sesame seed buns, split and toasted
  • 2 tablespoons miso paste, (yellow or white fermented soybean paste)
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups english cucumber, thinly sliced

  • crushed red pepper flakes
