  • 1/4 cup split pigeon pea (Tuvaram pariippu / tur dal/ thogri bele)
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric grated (or use turmeric powder)
  • 1/4 tsp hing (/ kayam/ asafeoteida ( omit if you dont like the taste))
