Lattice Apple Pie

DISH THE RECIPE

 

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups All purpose flour
  • 9.9 oz / 280gm Salted Butter cold, diced into small cubes
  • 1/8 tsp Nutmeg or a good two pinch
  • 1/4 tsp Salt flat measurement, not a heap
  • 2/3 cup Sugar about 10 tbsp
  • 2 no. Egg medium, or one jumbo size
  • 2 tbsp Ice Water or enough to make the dough crumbly
  • 3 no. Red apples Courtland, Honey crisp or any crisp apples.
  • 3 no. Granny Smiths
  • A good pinch of Ground Cloves or all spice
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • Pinch of Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 4 tbsp Sugar
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 3/4 cup Water
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Essence omit if you prefer a traditional filling
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream omit if you prefer a traditional filling
  • 3 tbsp Corn Flour mix with 6 tbsp water
