  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup heavy whipping cream, room temperature, can sub evaporated milk
  • 2 egg yolks, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened and cut into 4 pieces, 2 ounces or 4 tablespoons
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup sweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
