Can't Stay Out of the Kitchen

 

This delectable dessert is great served as a traditional English dessert during the holiday season. Made with fresh figs, this cobbler-type dessert is to die for! Oh, bring us a Figgy Pudding and a cup of good cheer!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups diced figs (do not peel, but cut off the top stem)
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • <li class="ERSeparator">TOPPING:
  • 2 cups Gold Medal UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour (bleached flour toughens baked goods)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 sticks Land O’ Lakes unsalted butter, cold (3/4 cup or 12-tbsp.)
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
