Dr. Pepper Drops New Dr. Pepper Strawberries & Cream

I’m just going to come right out and say it, Dr. Pepper is the best pop on the planet. Or do you call it soda? Either way, it’s my all time favorite.

Even though I’m not much of a soda/pop drinker these days, when I do treat myself to a carbonated sweet treat, Dr. Pepper is the one for me. Give me all 23 delicious flavors!

To the delight of fans everywhere, myself included, Dr. Pepper announced a new flavor this week - Dr. Pepper Strawberries & Cream!

What Is the New Flavor of Dr. Pepper?

In recent years, the beloved soda brand has been trying new concepts, mixing their standard beverage with other flavors like dark berries, cream soda, and even a bourbon flavored Dr. Pepper that didn’t contain any alcohol.

The new Dr. Pepper flavor, Strawberries & Cream, is described as, "the original 23 flavors of Dr. Pepper swirled with layers of refreshing strawberry flavor and a smooth, creamy finish."

Senior Vice President of Dr. Pepper Brand Marketing, John Alvarado, said in a statement, "our expert team of flavor scientists are constantly innovating to bring to life new varieties that will surprise, and delight treat seekers and our existing dedicated fans.”

Unlike past featured flavors, Dr. Pepper is expected to keep the Strawberries & Cream flavor in the permanent flavor lineup.

Recently we have seen brands play around with fun limited edition flavors like the Pepsi S’mores Collection and Coca-Cola Dreamworld, which was said to be “space flavored.”

Personally, I think this new era of innovation is fun often with delicious results. With so much competition, it’s important to keep things fresh and innovative.

Is Dr. Pepper Strawberries & Cream Good?

I had the chance to try the new Dr. Pepper Strawberries & Cream flavor and found it to be pretty tasty! It's sweet and fruity, as expected.

I’m not crazy about strawberry-flavored things, but this reminded me of those Cream Saver hard candies that we had as kids.

My pro tip? I think Dr. Pepper Strawberries & Cream would work really well in the style of a root beer float much like our cherry Cola floats recipe.
