Kellogg’s Introduces New Eggo Nog - A Holiday Treat Just for the Adults

The waffle inspired Eggo Nog is a rum-based drink in collaboration with Sugarlands Distilling Co. for the over 21 crowd.

I completely swear, I had the idea for Leggo My Eggo Nog a solid 15 years ago. I could’ve been a trillionaire by now! Another missed opportunity, but I digress.

Even though we haven’t even made it to Halloween yet, companies are already gearing up for the holidays. Kellogg's is no exception with the newly announced Eggo Nog, a limited edition cream liqueur available for holiday season 2022.

International Delights has had their Grinch inspired coffee creamers on the shelves since July and Mars, Incorporated has confirmed Espresso M&M’s will be hitting the shelves at some point in late fall or early winter, though no definitive date has been announced just yet.

Not to be left out in the cold, Kellogg’s partnered with Sugarlands Distilling Co. out of Gatlinburg, Tennessee to bring us a waffle inspired treat, just for adults.

What Is Eggo Nog?

Touted as an Appalachian Sippin’ Cream, Eggo Nog is a rich, churned cream, with creamy, warm cinnamon and nutmeg flavors, and of course - rum!

The Eggo waffle inspired Eggo Nog is a 40 proof (20%ABV) rum-based cream liqueur created for the 21 and over crowd, bringing a little extra nostalgia to happy hour this holiday season.

In their joint announcement, Master Distiller, Greg Eidam, of Sugarlands Distilling Co. said, “It’s really heavy on deep flavors of churned cream, and cinnamon and nutmeg, which we feel pair really well with that perfectly toasted Eggo waffle.”

The idea is said to have come about after Kellogg’s learned of parents enjoying "me time" after putting their little ones to bed, toasting up a waffle and adding a scoop of ice cream.

Joe Beauprez, marketing director for Eggo, shared, “We created Eggo Nog to give parents a delicious way to indulge in some well-deserved ‘evening me time.’ Paired perfectly with our Eggo Thick & Fluffy Waffles – maybe even topped with a dollop of ice cream – Eggo Nog is sure to help parents L'Eggo during one of the busiest times of the year.”

As parents, we’re the ones that do all the shopping and cooking during the holidays, so it’s nice to see a company giving the adults a fun and tasty new way to toast the holiday season.

Where to Buy Eggo Nog

As a lover of waffles, you know I need to get my hands on a bottle of Eggo Nog! From cinnamon sugar waffle bites to apple butter bacon waffle sandwiches, I want all the waffles.

Notably, this is the first product that Kellogg’s has ever made that requires the buyer to be over the age of 21, which means you won't be picking it up in the breakfast aisle.

The Kellogg's x Sugarlands Eggo Nog collaboration will run for a limited time, and it's available right now! Check out the Sugarlands Distilling Co. website to find a location near you.

While you're there, check out festive, seasonal cocktail recies such as Pumpkin Spice Eggo Nog and one for an Eggo Nog Martini all made with Eggo Nog Sippin' Cream.
