Krispy Kreme Churro-Inspired Doughnuts Are Here, But Not for Long

As if I needed another reason to go to Krispy Kreme, the company announced new limited edition churro-inspired doughnuts they're calling Churrdoughs!

I mean, who doesn’t like doughnuts and churros? But...together?! Oh yeah! This is a flavor mashup that I can absolutely get behind with enthusiasm.

Krispy Kreme, famously known for turning on a special light to signal when they have fresh hot donuts available, has seemingly done it again!

(Anyone else feel like that light is similar to the Bat signal and when you see it, you absolutely must investigate further? No? Just me?)

What Are Krispy Kreme Churrdoughs?

Their new limited-time crazy mashup of fried dough treats, Krispy Kreme Churrdoughs combine the best of both churros and Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

Beginning this week and running through September 18th, the doughnuts chain has unveiled its Churrdough collection, inspired by all things churro.

Included in the flavors are Cinnamon Sugar Churrdough, Cookies & Kreme Churrdough, and Dulce De Leche Churrdough. I'll be grabbing one of each!

In a statement, Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme, said "If you love classic churros or our Original Glazed® Doughnuts, you’re going to love this light and airy, cinnamon-y, caramel-y, creamy, sugary goodness we’ve created.” Dave might not be speaking for everyone, but he is speaking for me!

As someone that can’t leave Costco without getting my churro fix on, I think I would likley start with trying the more standard Cinnamon Sugar Churrdough.

The Cinnamon Sugar Churrodugh is a light and airy donut coated with cinnamon and sugar, topped with cinnamon Kreme and crushed salted caramel.

Surely, you’ll need a coffee to go with this treat. I’ll probably have mine black since the Churrdough is so sweet, but I also have a special place in my heart for pumpkin spice lattes. (Yeah, yeah, make your jokes.)

While this is something I have only recently admitted, it's true. I love a good pumpkin spice latte and think it would pair perfectly with a good Churrdough.

Make Churro Doughnuts at Home

If you don't live near a participating Krispy Kreme, why not make churro doughtnuts at home?!Yes, you can do that and it's not hard. Promise!

Our baked churro doughnuts recipe is totally epic.The simple cake doughnut batter is a cinch to make then fresh dougnuts are rolled in cinnamon sugar.

So if you can't make it out for a Churrodough, or if you fall in love and want to keep the party going, make churro doughnuts at home!
