Quesadilla Burgers Recipe
Dionne Baldwin | Try Anything OnceQuesadilla Burgers may just be your new favorite easy dinner. They’ll please a crowd too!
Quesadilla Burgers are sliders wrapped in a tortilla, lightly fried in a pan to give the outside of the tortilla a little crispness that is a nice change up from the traditional burger bun. I wasn’t going for the burger version of a taco, at least not full force with it.
For a little something different, I use taco seasonings in this recipe to give the patties a subtle flavor. It’s taken to another level with salsa and guac, which are totally optional.
Well, the salsa is, but the guacamole is a must for me. Even smashed avocado would do if you ask me!
My favorite things about these burgers is the tortilla. The crisp outside is pretty awesome. There is nothing wrong with a fluffy fresh baked burger bun, but sometimes a change is needed.
This isn’t just something I made up on my own though. Quite a few years ago I was partaking in Happy Hour at Appleby’s with a few friends and my choice of appetizer was quesadilla burgers.
This is somewhat how I remember them. They weren’t made with taco meat but instead a regular burger patty and the only nod to a quesadilla was the tortilla.
For this recipe, I added some taco seasonings. For a traditional burger patty you can use this recipe here.
Do you ever meet up with friends for Happy Hour? These days I’d be more inclined to have some friends over for an appetizer potluck and a few cocktails for an evening of catching up. And lots of laughs.
If you’re long overdue for a visit with friends, plan a little Happy Hour of your own!

Quesadilla Burgers Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 small Onion, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Chili Seasoning Mix
- 1/8 teaspoon Cumin
- Black Pepper, to taste (a couple pinches)
- Salt, to taste (a few pinches)
- 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/8 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
- Burrito-Sized Flour Tortillas
- Lettuce, finely chopped
- Fresh Tomato, sliced
- Sliced Cheese
- Salsa
- Guacamole
Directions
- In a large mixing bowl, crumble the ground beef.
- Add in onion, seasonings and Worcestershire sauce and mix well with your hands.
- Form into small patties. I like to make meatballs a little bigger than a handful and smash them flat.
- Cook the patties then drain on a paper towel.
- Lightly oil a pan on medium heat.
- Cut the tortillas in half then place a patty towards the cut side, leaving room around the round part of the tortilla.
- Put lettuce and sliced tomato on top of the patty and fold the tortilla closed around the patty, leaving the cut side exposed.
- Cook each of the wrapped burgers a couple minutes each side until the sides are crisp.
- Optional: serve with guacamole and salsa.
