Buffalo Chicken Celery Sticks Recipe

Dionne Baldwin | Try Anything Once

Buffalo chicken celery sticks take celery to a whole new level! It’s sure to jazz up plain celery for sure and put a smile on every Buffalo chicken lover’s face.

I am not a fan of plain celery but I eat it because it’s good for me and I feel obligated to consume some every now and again. Every other time I’ll put peanut butter in them because I looooooove peanut butter.

And it makes celery bearable!

If you ever get ambitious about vegetables and buy a bundle of celery at the store then realize you need a creative way to use it, definitely make this. In fact go grab some celery just for this!

You’re going to love it if you like Buffalo chicken wings.

On game day I usually go overboard on the menu so when you see this recipe calls for rotisserie chicken, keep in mind I’m thinking of you and your oven space on game day. Not to mention the added time of baking the chicken and letting it cool.

Do you have a fun recipe for making celery good enough to eat? What do you put in your celery?

If there was ever a dip recipe so good I’d use celery to scoop it up, it’s Beer Dip. That is such a delicious combination...I think it’s the bacon. The beer helps too!

Ranch Pimento Cheese Dip is a close second for me. I’m guessing this Homemade Ranch Dressing is celery friendly! I’d dip (or scoop) using celery.

Next time you’re putting together an appetizer or two for your guests, give this a try. If you cut off the very bottom layer of celery these should travel well if you pack them in a container with a lid.

Don’t try to wrap a pretty platter with plastic wrap or you might be bringing everyone out to the back seat of your car for the appetizer!

Buffalo Chicken Celery Sticks Recipe

  30 Servings

Ingredients

  • 1 Rotisserie Chicken
  • 1/2 cup Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Sauce
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese, room temperature
  • 2 cups Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 3 cups Shredded Cheese
  • 1 bunch Celery

Directions

  1. Take meat off the bones of the chicken and chop it up!
  2. Whisk cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Mix in Greek yogurt until evenly incorporated.
  4. Fold in Buffalo sauce.
  5. Then add cheese and chicken.
  6. Cut celery into about 3 inch pieces, cutting off the very ends of the stalks.
  7. Trim off the bottom of each celery stick so it lays flat on a platter.
  8. Fill celery pieces with Buffalo chicken mixture.

Notes

  • I get about 6 cups of meat from the average rotisserie chicken. One whole chicken will make about 30 servings.
