Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan Sliders Recipe

Rebekah Garcia Kalinowski | Kitchen Gidget

Slow cooker chicken parmesan sliders are mouthwateringly delicious and insanely easy to make! Chicken breasts cook in marinara sauce until fall-apart tender and can be used in these party sliders or a quick dinner during the week!

This recipe was inspired by one of my friends. She is the queen of cooking chicken in the crock pot and using it multiple ways throughout the week. It always comes out tender and juicy, and she rotates the seasonings so it never gets boring.

I thought slow cooker chicken parmesan sliders with mozzarella cheese would be delicious. Plus, they are so easy to make and healthier since it doesn’t involve breading and frying chicken.

In a Crock Pot, cook chicken with marinara sauce until it shreds with a fork. You can simply serve this on buns with cheese for dinner, or turn it into party sliders like I did. You could also go low-carb with a chicken parmesan veggie bowl. So many options!

I served these on mini rolls and gave them the royal treatments with a cheesy garlic butter sauce that was divine! Bake for a few minutes until everything is hot and the cheese is melty – so good!

These are going into the dinner rotation and I can already they are going to be a huge hit at parties and game day. Don’t forget dessert – if you like things a little sweet and salty check out my Tropical Orange Pretzel Salad!

The recipe below will make two dozen sliders. However, I like to make double the meat while my crock pot is already working.

The slow cooker part of this recipe is one of my favorite aspects because I can use the leftovers throughout the week. Nix the hamburger in my Ricotta Pasta with Beef and use this chicken instead. Boom – dinner is served!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
  • 2 teaspoons Salt, divided
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic Powder, divided
  • 3 cups Marinara Sauce, divided
  • 24 Slider Rolls
  • 8 ounces Mozzarella Cheese, or provolone, shredded or sliced
  • 1/2 cup Butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Parsley Flakes, dried or fresh

Directions

  1. Place chicken in slow cooker. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon salt and garlic. Cover with 2 cups of marinara and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-6.

  4. Slice the buns in half and place bottoms in a baking dish (you may need to use 2). Layer with half the cheese, then the chicken, then remaining cheese and cover with the top half of the buns.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, Parmesan, parsley, 1 teaspoon salt and garlic powder. Pour over sliders. Cover with aluminum foil and let sit for 10 minutes while oven preheats to 350°F.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, then remove foil and bake for about 2-5 minutes, or until the tops are toasted, the cheese is melted and the chicken is hot.
