Cheeseburger Macaroni Recipe

Cheeseburger Macaroni makes dinner a snap. Skip the box, skip the take-out, and just make this deliciously comforting meal.

I cannot believe that it is August and the summer is almost over. It is time to start thinking about back to school. With back to school comes schedules, busy nights, homework, and the scrambling that goes on each weeknight. So many families reach for the box mix or frozen dinner on those nights.

Not tonight!

This one skillet dinner is better than its store bought counter part by miles. Not only does this cheeseburger macaroni taste way better, it is so much better for you. No fake chemicals and ingredients you can’t pronounce here!

When I was growing up we had Hamburger Helper for dinner every once in a while. Mainly it was reserved for camping trips. With just a couple ingredients, and one pan, my mom could make it in our little pop-up camper kitchen.

When I got to college my roommate and I liked to cook, we just didn’t have a lot of experience. Often times we would jazz up a box of Hamburger Helper with mushrooms and other add-ins. Since I got married I think I have probably made it once or twice. My husband was never a fan.

This homemade cheeseburger macaroni skillet tastes just like I remember as a kid, only better.

This macaroni skillet comes together in about 20 minutes and only dirties one skillet. You can’t ask for much more than that on a busy night. I bumped up the health factor a little bit with a whole grain elbow pasta. No one will know the difference, and such an easy way to get a few more whole grains in your family.
