Spaghetti and Meatballs Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 10 cloves garlic, 9 cloves smashed and peeled, one clove minced fine
- 84 ounces crushed tomatoes, (three large cans, i like muir glen or san marzano)
- kosher salt, to taste (about two tablespoons, divided)
- 2 ounces fresh basil, (about 1 cup) roughly chopped
- 1 teaspoon oregano, (or to taste)
- black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 pound ground veal
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 ounces parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs, (i prefer panko style)
- 10 sprigs fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 pound dry spaghetti
