Melted Cheese Crackers Recipe

Dionne Baldwin | Try Anything Once

Melted Cheese Crackers seem like a no-brainer, but they’re the appetizer you never considered. They go great with dips, and are excellent on their own too.

These are so easy to make, they really don’t need much, if any, instructions, but I just had to share this with you!

So perfect if you’re having people over and you have an appetizer, but have even more people coming than expected and you need a little something more.

Or maybe you have a friend stopping by and you want a snack with your afternoon cocktail and plain crackers just don’t cut it.

I mean, for me they’re totally fine. I can show you a picture of an empty cracker box for proof! Haha!

But there are days when you need just a little something more.

We almost always have crackers and shredded cheese in the house. Just those two ingredients. That’s all you need. The more plain the crackers the better.

I’ve tried a low fat shredded cheese once that didn’t have a lot of flavor on its own, so I added just a wee bit of garlic salt on top. If your cheese lacks a punch, give that a try.

For your own sanity, please take heed to my warning and don’t leave these crackers unattended under the broiler.

Now, I’m sure you’re nothing like me and you don’t wander off across the house and totally forget you have something under the broiler and smell something burning 10 minutes later.

Please tell me it’s just me and I get distracted easily. By the way, just discovered my broiler has a low setting. Not just high aka hot-as-the-sun. That’s going to save me a lot of toast!

Back to these crackers, this is so easy it feels like there’s something missing. Add another goodie to the appetizer table or these would make a good scoop for some beer dip.

Beer dip has a ranch packet and bacon, which apparently is an out-of-this-world combination. Should there be the time and desire to make something from scratch in the future, file these homemade cheese crackers away for a later date. They are totally worth it if you have the time!

These crackers are so quick to come together, snacking isn’t far away! I hope you love ‘em. Don’t forget to check out the other appetizer recipes and see if something catches your eye!
